Rafael Hilario, of the men’s volleyball team, is the UNB REDS/Valley Graphics male Athlete of the Month, for January.
Hilario was among several contributors to the REDS’ 5-and-1 January run against RSEQ opponents.
The veteran hitter, playing his fifth year of eligibility, registered 15 or more kills in five of the REDS six matches and was a strong presence on the defensive side of the net.
“Raf had some dominant performances for us,” said REDS’ head coach Dan McMorran. “His level of play continues to rise at a crucial time in our season, and he’ll be one of our key pieces as we head into post-season play.”
Hilario and his REDS teammates wrap up their RSEQ regular season schedule on the road, with two matches at Sherbrooke, before the conference playoffs.
