Rodrigues Leads REDS At AUS Meet
(ST. JOHN'S, NL) Sierra Rodrigues (Bolton, ON) was the top RED at the 2024 Atlantic University Sport Cross Country Championships, in St. John's, finishing the women's eight kilometre event in seventh place.
Rodrigues finished about 20 second behind winner Eileen Benoit (Windsor, NS) of STFX.
UNB's Ivy Bialowas (Ottawa, ON) and Hilary Bishop (Milton, ON) ran 10th and 11th respectively, while Georgia Bernhard (Guelph, ON) was 17th and Claire Hamilton (Kingston, ON) was 27th.
Hamilton and teammate Alexandra Benevides (Antigonish, NS), who finished 31st, were the second and third rookies to finish and were both named to the AUS All-Rookie Team.
UNB's Ava Goncalves (West St. Paul, MB) was 29th.
Rodrigues was named a 1st Team AUS All-Star while Bialowas and Bishop earned 2nd Team All-Star nods.
UNB finished third in the women's team standings, behind the X-Women and Dalhousie.
