The UNB Varsity Reds women's volleyball team is excited to announce Megan Kuciak's commitment to the squad, beginning in the 2015-16 season.

Kuciak, a native of Ottawa, Ontario, is a strong outside hitter who has spent the last three years playing with the Ottawa Mavericks High Performance Team. She also brings experience playing beach volleyball with the Ontario Volleyball Association for the past two summers.

UNB head coach Jilliane Goulet has had her eye on Kuciak for a while and is pleased to add her to what is shaping up to be a very impressive squad.

"Watching Megan play as a 17U, I saw an impressive athlete with a lot of potential. Watching her play this year on her 18U club team, that potential is starting to be realized," Goulet said.

"I'm really excited for what Megan will bring to our team and for how far she can go in our environment."

Kuciak intends to work towards her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at UNB and says she's eager to get started.

"I can't wait to be a part of the Varsity Reds next year,"Kuciak said. "I'm very excited and looking forward to contributing to such a great team."
