June 5, 2013
Lauren Joyce latest addition to V-Reds Volleyball.
Jilliane Goulet, Head Coach of the UNB Varsity Reds women's volleyball program is pleased to announce that UK's Lauren Joyce will join the team for the 2013-14 season.
Joyce will become the second UK recruit in as many years on the women's team and will join Paige Nelmes in the Red and Black.
"We are thrilled Lauren will be joining us in the fall," said coach Goulet. "She brings with her a high-quality training background and international playing experience, not to mention a focused and driven personality. We'll be looking to Lauren to make a difference on the court right away."
Ms Joyce has been a member of the UK National Volleyball Academy since 2010 where she trains twice a day every day. She was a member of the 2012 winning team at the U18 Cup and she gained her first cap for the England Senior Team at the Novotel Cup in Luxembourg this year.
This is such an amazing opportunity for me to develop as an athlete and be part of a great volleyball program whilst studying abroad," said Joyce.
The 18 year old from Hayward's Heath, UK, will study in the Faculty of Kinesiology while at UNB.
