Tigers ruin Varsity Reds home opener
Opening up their regular season at home Friday night at the Richard J. Currie Center, the UNB Varsity Reds got off on the right foot by winning the first set of the match against the Dalhousie Tigers 25-20.

In the second set the Tigers would bounce back, taking the second set 25-18.

The third set would see the Dalhousie Tigers come out on top of a tight set, winning 26-24 to lead two sets to one.

UNB would battle back in the fourth set, but fell 29-27 to the Tigers to drop their home opener 3-1.

"I thought that was out best effort of the season thus far in exhibition and league play," said UNB head coach John Richard. "It was good atmosphere here to play in and that's a CIS top ten team this week in Dalhousie so I thought we had a chance to win the third set and had a chance to win the fourth."

"We could have come out of here 3-1 as easy as we lost 3-1."

The players of the match were Maggie Li for Dalhousie and Rebecca Glancy for UNB.
