UNB Runs Well At ANB Meet
(OROMOCTO, NB) The UNB Varsity Reds women's track and field team continue their late season surge.
The Reds took part in the 2015 New Brunswick Indoor Championships, in the field-house, at CFB Gagetown, on the weekend.
In the women's 4 X 200m, UNB was just off the school record performance from last week, with a time of 1:47.93s.
The team of Victoria LeBlanc, Sydney MacDonald, Hailee Cook and Tess McDonald will see their result get closer to conference leader Dalhousie and 2nd place St. FX, thanks to flat track conversion.
MacDonald continued her strong day with a season best in long jump of 5.00m, and a solid 2nd place finish in the 60m hurdles.
Grace Annear took part in both the 600m and 1500m. She won the 600m in a time of 1:35.99s and came back quickly to run 4:58.09s in the 1500m.
LeBlanc had the top 300m result of the day, in a personal best time of 43.82s.
"This was a solid day for our women's team," said Varsity Reds head coach Jason Reindl. "We had a great result in the relay and had some personal and seasons bests."
"At this time of year and heading into the championships I think we are right where we want to be."
