(WOLFVILLE, NS) The final day of the Jack Scholz Invitational, at Acadia, saw Dalhousie University secure first place in the overall team standings on Sunday.
Acadia finished second overall while the Memorial Sea-Hawks placed third. UNB was fourth.
In the women's division, Acadia claimed first, outperforming Dal. Memorial took third place. Dalhousie led the men's standings, followed by Acadia and Memorial. The REDS were fourth in both the women's and men's standings.
The meet saw multiple standout performances across all teams.
UNB's Leah Smal was second in the women's 50 metre backstroke, finishing just 4/10th of a second behind Acadia's Sophie Rooney.
In the men's 50 metre backstroke, second-year RED Maxime Kenny was third behind two Dal swimmers.
"Overall, we had a really good competition," said REDS' head coach Marta Belsh. "Our goal was to test our technical skills under pressure and our ability to control the race by executing details well. The majority of our swimmers did well and we're on the right track."
The next meet on the Atlantic University Sport schedule is the Kemp-Fry Invitational at Dalhousie, Nov. 22-24, which will be the final meet of the fall semester.
