More Medals For UNB On Day Two of AUS Championships
(HALIFAX, NS) After two days of competition, the Dalhousie Tigers have increased their lead in both the women's and men's team results, at the Atlantic University Sport swimming championships.
Dalhousie's Phoebe Lenderyou was the first swimmer to find the top of the podium, on day two. The AUS swimmer of the year won the women's 100m breaststroke.
AUS female rookie of the year Lise Cinq-Mars (Dalhousie) grabbed her first individual gold of the championship, winning the 50m butterfly event. UNB's Charli LeBlanc was second.
Dal's Katherine Webster won her third individual gold medal of the meet, winning the 400m freestyle in a CIS-qualifying time of 4:16.34. Fellow Tiger Claire Yurkovich was second, followed by UNB's Kayla Martin.
In one of the tightest races of the night, the Varsity Reds' LeBlanc won the 50m freestyle, in a time of 26.16. Dal's Lucy MacLeod was second, in 26.44.
The Tigers won the women's 4 x 200m relay in a time of 8:21.58. Mount Allison was second, followed by UNB.
