Women defeat the Panthers 4-2
The UNB Lady Reds didn't let their first game of the weekend dictate how their second game would go. They were able to take a 4-2 victory over the Panthers, and each goal was as good as the last.
Ford scored two of the four goals in today's game. Her first early in the game, and scored the second after beating the defender and the goalie had come out, giving her the opportunity to push the ball into the net.
Head coach Jon Crossland sees Ford as one on the strongest in the league, and says it reflects each game.
The other two goals of the game were scored by Paige Vincent and Meggie Spicer – her second of the weekend.
Mathematically the women still have a chance to make the AUS playoffs. With the three points added to their standing, they now sit seventh in the standings, only two spots out of playoff position.
"[I'm] really happy," she said. "I don't think I played as well as yesterday, to be honest, but I wasn't disappointed with how I played and I think it was more of a team effort. Everyone showed up 100 per cent today."
They travel this coming weekend to play the Saint Mary's Huskies and then the Dalhousie Tigers.
