UNB Women's Soccer tie UPEI 0-0
October 26, 2012
The UNB women tied UPEI 0-0 tonight but took away one point to add to their AUS standing.
They are in seventh place going into their game against Saint Mary's University on Saturday.
"It's the same as every game we've played all season long, really," said head coach Jon Crossland.
"Pieces at the first half, slow start in the second half and then a strong finish."
Goalkeep Jackie Blank kept UNB in the game with a few big saves off of a free kick. Diving for the ball, she jumped back onto her feet and saved the rebound.
"She's the only goalkeeper in the league that makes that save on that free kick. Guaranteed no other goalkeeper in the league makes that save," said Crossland.
With six tied games in their season, the women must defeat the Saint Mary University's Huskies to take their place in AUS, or they finish off their season tomororw night.
Saint Mary's sits two spots ahead of the UNB women with 14 points.
