UNB Women's Soccer team tied 1-1 against Memorial
October 13, 2012
The UNB Women’s soccer team tied Memorial University 1-1 in the first game of their double header over the weekend.
The lone UNB goal of the game was scored by #18 Eden Vanderlaarden ten minutes into the game.
“We scored off the set piece on a corner and we haven’t done that in a while, we had a couple people in some different looks, so I guess frustration might be the best thing to come out because tomorrow they will come back even more ready to go,” said assistant coach Joe Crossland.
Tied for sixth place with Universite de Moncton in the Atlantic University Sport standings, UNB needs to beat Memorial in their second game if they hope to make playoffs.
“We’re at a point where we need to get three points instead of one to get us into the playoffs,” he said.
“So that was one of those games that you look back at the calendar in three weeks and say we needed those three points.”
UNB plays Memorial on Sunday October 14 at one pm.
