(PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MB) The UNB Reds are 3-and-0 after three draws at the U SPORTS Women's Curling Championship, in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

The Reds scored a pair of convincing wins on Thursday, beating the Queens Gaels 12-7 in a morning draw, before dispatching the host Brandon Bobcats 10-4 in evening play.

In their victory over Queens, UNB excelled when they had the hammer, scoring three in the third end, three in the fifth, and four more in the seventh end.

"We set up the ends well and kept putting pressure on them," said Reds' second Keira McLaughlin, following the win over the Gaels. "When you put pressure on people, they're bound to miss shots here and there. We really did a good job keeping the pressure on by making good shots."

Third Erica Cluff led UNB, curling 78% in the victory.

In the 10-4 win over Brandon, the Reds started by stealing five points in the first two ends, one in the first and four more in the second.

UNB controlled the tempo of the game, and continued to show solid efficiency with the hammer, scoring five points in the three ends they held last shot.

"We continued to apply a lot of pressure, like the last game," said Cluff, who upped her efficiency to a near perfect 90% against the Bobcats. "Hopefully we can continue to do that moving into the weekend, and hopefully the playoffs."

On Wednesday, in the opening draw, the Reds beat Regina 10-4.

On Friday, the Reds face Atlantic University Sport rivals Dalhousie, and Laurier.
