(SYDNEY, NS) The Cape Breton University Capers used a strong fourth quarter to defeat the UNB Varsity Reds 87-63 in Atlantic University Sport action, on Saturday afternoon.
Alison Keough(Marion Bridge, NS) and Toni Bianchini(Groves Point, NS) were CBU's top performers, while the Varsity Reds were led by Laura Kaye(Fredericton, NB) who scored a team-high 20 points.
Keough scored 21 for CBU and grabbed 17 rebounds, while Bianchini had an impressive game, scoring 16 points and adding four assists, earning Subway Player of the Game honours.
Both teams are now 6-5 on the season.
The Capers are third in the Atlantic University Sport standings, while UNB is fourth.
CBU's next action is next Saturday, when they host St FX.
The Varsity Reds are on the road again next weekend, making stops at Acadia, on Friday, and Dalhousie, on Saturday.
