(FREDERICTON, NB) The No. 9 U SPORTS ranked Montreal Carabins had their hands full, yet again, with the UNB REDS on Saturday.

The Carabins completed a sweep of their weekend RSEQ series with the REDS, scoring a 3-1 victory.

Montreal won with scores of 25-17, 25-21, 15-25 and 25-21.

In the first set, the REDS were able to stay close in the early going, but fell behind 16-11.

UNB would come within four, at 17-13, but Montreal pulled away for a 25-17 win.

The second set was much closer, with the teams tying 10-10 and 11-11, before the Carabins snuck ahead 21-18, on route to a 25-21 set victory.

The REDS established an early 5-1 lead in the third set and never really looked back.

When UNB went up 13-4, the Carabins called a timeout, in hopes of halting the REDS' momentum.

Rafael Hilario (Rio de Janeiro, BRA) served three straight aces as UNB went up 22-11, and the REDS took the third set 25-15.

A tightly contested four set saw the REDS and Carabins tied 10-10 before Montreal moved ahead 17-15.

Again, UNB kept it close, but the Carabins prevailed 25-21 for the 3-1 win.

With the loss, the REDS are now 0-and-3.

UNB hosts the Dalhousie Tigers on Friday. Game time is 7:00pm Atlantic.

Montreal improves to 5-2. They visit Laval next Sunday.
