Eivind Andersen of the UNB Varsity Reds men’s volleyball team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week, for the week ending Nov. 13, 2016.

A fifth-year arts student from Sandnes, Norway, Andersen led the Varsity Reds in a pair of weekend road wins over the Memorial Sea-Hawks.

In Saturday’s 3-0 win, the 2016 AUS MVP had 17 kills, seven digs, two blocks and 18 points for UNB.

He followed up Sunday with 19 kills, seven digs, four blocks and 22 points in the Varsity Reds’ 3-1 victory.

Andersen is currently leading the Atlantic conference in both kills and points per set.

The 6'4" outside hitter was also named the Varsity Reds/Papa John's Pizza male Athlete of the Week.

The Subway AUS female Athlete of the Week is Maiya Westwood, a setter on the Memorial Sea-Hawks women's volleyball team.

Throughout the 2016-17 season, each Subway AUS Athlete of the Week will receive a Subway gift card and a signed certificate courtesy of Subway and Atlantic University Sport.
