GAME 6: Queen's drops final game of invitational tournament to Montreal 3-0
The Gaels closed the Queen's Invitational Tournament with a 3-0 loss to the Montreal Carabins on Sunday at the Athletics & Recreation Centre (ARC).
Queen's kept the entire game close, but ultimately failed to win a set losing with scores of 23-25, 23-25 and 24-26.
Stephen Holmes (Ancaster, Ont.) was Queen's top player registering 15.5 points including a game high 14 kills while Phillip Goyer (Ottawa) posted 11 kills in the loss. Setter
Matthew Bonshor White Rock, B.C.) tallied 31 assists.

Ivo Dramov (Bulgaria) was the game's top defensive player with 13 digs.
Montreal's winning attack was led by Vincent Duval-Demers (Longueuil, Que.) who recorded 15 points for the Carabins. Also hitting double-digit points was Saad Elbekri (Montreal) who scored 11 points including six assisted blocks and seven kills.
After the game, Montreal's Samuel Landry (Saint-Alexandre, Que) and Queen's
Scott Brunet (Calgary) were added to the tournament all-star squad.
Earlier Manitoba earned a 3-2 victory over New Brunswick to win the Queen's Invitational title posting a 3-0 record. The Bisons' Kenny Rooney was named the tournament MVP while teammates Adam DeJonckheeree, Luke Heer (all from Winnipeg) collected tournament all-stars.
Eivind Andersen (Norway) and Juilio Fernandez (Venzuela) were the Varsity Reds representatives to the tournament all-star team.
GAME #5: Manitoba wins Queen's Invitational with 3-2 victory over UNB
Down two sets, the Manitoba Bisons roared back to knock off the No. 7 ranked New Brunswick Varsity Reds in five sets (3-2), winning the Queen's Invitational Championship on Sunday.
Manitoba lost the first two sets 21-25, 23-25 but then rattled off three straight set victories with scores of 25-20, 25-22, and 15-12.
Kenny Rooney (Winnipeg) was named tournament MVP as he posted 24.5 points in the final game. He had 18 kills, once ace and 5.5 blocks. Teammate Adam DeJonckheere (Winnipeg) also registered over 20 points in the final game recording 23 in the win.
Bisons' Alex Strachan (Winnipeg) posted a game high 17 digs while setter Luke Herr (Three Hills, Man.) was the game's best setter posting 57 assists.
New Brunswick was led by Eivind Andersen (Norway) who had 23 points and 17 kills in the loss for the Varsity Reds.
DeJonckheeree, and Herr were named tournament all-stars along with Rooney for the Bisons while Andersen and
Julio Fernandez (Venezuela) were named for the Varsity Reds.
Manitoba finished with the Queen's Invitational with a perfect 3-0 record while New Brunswick were 2-1.
