Julio Fernandez showed why he was named the AUS Most Valuable Player. On Friday night, he led the team with 13 kills, 8 digs, and 2 blocks and was named the Subway "Player of the Game", and followed that with his best match of the year, leading all attackers with 18 kills with an incredible .438 kill pct., 5 digs, 2 blocks, and a service ace. "Julio's performance in these last two games is amongst the best I've seen in a playoff series. He has consistently risen to the occasion and has shown that he is one of the best in his position in the country. I am extremely proud of him," commented head coach Dan McMorran.
