UNB Men�??s Volleyball Land Local Recruit

The UNB Varsity Reds Men’s Volleyball Program is pleased to announce that 6’2” Ecole St. Anne outside hitter, Marc White, will be joining the roster for the upcoming 2010-2011 season.

Marc, a native of New Maryland, has been heavily involved with Volleyball New Brunswick’s provincial indoor and beach programs, receiving VNB’s Male Athlete of the Year in 2008.  Last summer he represented New Brunswick on the indoor team at the Canada Games held in PEI, and finished third at the 19U World Beach Qualifier in Toronto, ON.  He was the MVP of the 18U Provincial Championships this year, where his team (Castors) were provincial champs and will now represent NB at the 18U Nationals this May in Abbotsford, BC.

Head Coach Dan McMorran is definitely looking forward to Marc joining the Varsity Reds squad this coming fall.

“Marc is a tremendous addition to our program.  He is by far the top volleyball player coming out of the Maritimes this year, and one of the best in this year’s recruiting class across the country,” commented McMorran.

“His all-round skills are pretty polished for a high school athlete.  He has also worked hard at his physical conditioning which will help to make this a seamless transition to the much faster and more powerful CIS game.”

Marc will pursue a Bachelor of Business degree at UNB starting in September.
