UNB's Luke Dillman and Daniel Brown travelled to Windsor to compete at the CIS National Track and Field Championships this past weekend.
As the only male athletes from UNB to qualify and attend the championships both Dillman and Brown represented their teammates back in New Brunswick valiantly.
Dillman started the day off by competing in the weight throw where he had a best throw of 14.63m. This broke his own UNB school record set previously at the AUS championships. Dillman finished in 12th place overall.
Brown ended the day for the Reds with the 300m. Being in lane two, Brown ran hard but would ultimately finish in 36.08s and 12th place overall.
"Luke threw great. It was a school record and life time best. He brought his best when it counted the most and as a coach that is all that we hope for with our athletes," said head coach Jason Reindl who added, "Daniel ran hard from lane two but ultimately fell short of our goals. This was a huge learning experience for for both athletes though and this experience will go along way in terms of their performance development."
