REDS Drop Pre-Season Finale

(FREDERICTON, NB) l'Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus scored a pair of first half goals in a 3-2 win over the host UNB REDS, in Atlantic University Sport exhibition action on Monday afternoon.

Jonathan Kisse opened the scoring for Moncton in 37^th minute, connecting on a hard drive from inside the 18-yard box.

Pascal Sonier pushed Moncton's lead to 2-0 when he headed in a crossing attempt in the 42^nd minute.

First-year REDS striker Myers Haynes (Antigonish, NS) cut the Moncton lead to a goal in the 45^th minute.

Moncton's Mamadou Ba restored the visitor's two-goal lead in the 57^th minute, but that was short-lived.

Reigning AUS MVP Keji Adeniyi (London, UK) brought the home team back within one in the 59^th minute and nearly tied the game on a spectacular bicycle kick effort in the 68^th minute. Moncton keeper Aaron Contreras made an equally spectacular save to preserve the visitor's lead.

The REDS open their AUS regular season schedule on Saturday, September 2^nd, at Cape Breton. Game time is scheduled for 3:15pm.

Moncton begins their regular season campaign Saturday at STFX. That kickoff is also scheduled for 3:15pm.
