(FREDERICTON, NB) The UNB Varsity Reds beat the Saint Mary's Huskies 1-0 on Saturday night, at UNB's BMO Centre.

Marcus Lees(Barrie, ON) scored in the 6th minute for UNB.

That goal would prove to be the game's only one.

"That was a bitter-sweet end of the year game for me, because we had to grind it out," said Lees. "We had a game plan to put in our best performance today, and I really can't say that we did that today, but we got the three points."

Evan Barker(Winnipeg, MB) made three saves in the Varsity Reds net for his second clean sheet in as many nights.

Christian Oxner(Halifax, NS) made four saves on five shots in the Huskies net.

"Any time you come here and only give away one goal, it's not a bad effort, but I'd rather walk out of here with three points," said Oxner. "It's not bad."

UNB's Joe Hamilton(Morecambe, UK) was named the Subway Player of the Game.

The win solidifies UNB's hold on third place in the Atlantic University Sport standings.

The Varsity Reds are now 6-3-2, and winners of four in a row.

They conclude their regular season next Saturday with a visit to Mount Allison.

The Huskies are in Moncton on Sunday.
