(FREDERICTON, NB) Dan Walker(Fredericton, NB) scored twice to lead the UNB Varsity Reds over the visiting Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus 4-0 on Friday night.

Walker scored on headers in the 21st minute and 55th minute.

"I think it's just that I can get on to the header, that I can get over people," said Walker. "It's hard to defend when someone's going straight up and they're going up higher than you, and I can just get the ball on target."

He was named Subway Player of the Game.

Robbie Park(Glasgow, SCO) and Grant Takacs(Woodstock, ON) also scored for UNB.

Evan Barker(Winnipeg, MB) made three saves to earn the clean sheet in the Varsity Reds net.

The win vaulted the Varsity Reds into third place in the Atlantic University Sport standings.

The Varsity Reds have won three straight and five of their last six games.

"As we get more comfortable with each other, as we get that grit and determination, we seem to find a way," said Walker. "We seem to find a way each and every game right now and we're getting better as a team, better collectively."

UNB, now 5-3-2, trails first place Cape Breton by five points, with two games to play.

Moncton falls to 3-6-0 and sits in sixth place.

"They managed their corner kicks very well, we took a long time to adapt to it," said Moncton head coach Florian Ntima-Nsiemi. "That's one of the challenges when you play them, they're very strong on set pieces. Our counter to that wasn't strong enough and it came down to momentum and battles in the box."

The Varsity Reds are back in action Saturday, playing host to the Saint Mary's Huskies in a game scheduled to start at 5:15pm.

Moncton will host the Huskies on Sunday.
