(ST. JOHN'S, NL) The Memorial Sea-Hawks earned a 1-0 victory over the UNB Varsity Reds on Sunday afternoon in St. John's, NL.

The win improves the Sea-Hawks record to 4-4-0, while the Varsity Reds now sit at 2-3-2.

The Sea-Hawks looked like a different team than the one that allowed FIVE first half UNB goals on Saturday.

Memorial was the more aggressive team in the first half, registering six shots on goal and controlling possession. UNB keeper Evan Barker(Winnipeg, MB) was able to keep the Sea-Hawks off the scoresheet, and the teams would go into the half scoreless.

UNB came out strong to start the second half, and had the Sea-Hawks on their heels. Rookie keeper Jack Haywood(St. John's, NL) was making his first career start and did well to keep the home side in it, as the Varsity Reds came close to scoring on multiple occasions.

Memorial would finally break the deadlock in the 67th minute, when AUS goal scoring leader Tyler Forsey(St. Philips, NL) found the back of the net on a great solo effort.

The Varsity Reds pushed hard for the equalizer, but Haywood held on for the clean sheet.

Forsey earned Subway Player of the Game honors for his game-winning strike.

The Sea-Hawks now have a two-week break before heading to UPEI on October 21st.

The Varsity Reds are back in action on October 15th, when they head to Moncton.
