(St. John's, NL) The UNB Varsity Reds scored early and often on Saturday afternoon, on route to a 5-0 win over the Memorial Sea-Hawks, in St. John's.

Dan Walker(Fredericton, NB) scored in 12th minute, the 18th minute, and the 26th minute to lead the Varsity Reds.

The game's opening goal was the first for Walker as a Varsity Red.

"It feels almost surreal," he said. "I've been waiting for basically three years to score a goal and it's just such a good feeling."

Matt Quigley(Conquerall Mills, NS) and Marcus Lees(Barrie, ON) also scored for UNB.

Evan Barker(Winnipeg, MB) and Kristian D'Amore(Oakville, ON) earned the clean sheet for the visitors.

With the hat-trick, Walker was named Subway Player of the Game.

"I always knew that I had goals in me," said Walker. "I always knew when it did come, the boys always said the flood gates would open, and they just opened for me and I just kept hitting it into the net."

The win drops the Sea-Hawks record to 3-4-0, while UNB improves to 2-2-2.

Walker was happy to see UNB dominate offensively.

"It's critical to us moving forward," he said. "To come to Memorial and play on their home field and score five goals on them is awesome. It's a really good feeling and it's going to help us going forward because it gives us confidence."

The two teams meet again Sunday.
