(FREDERICTON, NB) The UPEI Panthers defeated the UNB Varsity Reds 1-0 in pre-season play, at UNB's BMO Centre on Tuesday.
Sam Smiley(Stratford, PE) scored the game's lone goal, in the 73rd minute.
The Varsity Reds peppered the UPEI net with shots in the late stages, but couldn't tie the score.
Both teams now sport exhibition records of one win and one loss.
The Varsity Reds conclude their exhibition schedule on Sunday, when they host the University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals. Game time is 11:00am.
