Barker Named 2nd Team All-Canadian

(GUELPH, ON) First year UNB Varsity Reds keeper Evan Barker(Winnipeg, MB) was named a U Sports Canada second team All-Canadian.

Barker, also named the Atlantic University Sport Rookie of the Year, posted a 6-1-5 record in his freshman season, including 9 shut-outs.

He started all 12 games for the Varsity Reds, playing every minute.

Barker allowed just three goals against in his first season, helping the Varsity Reds post the lowest goals against average in the country.

"He didn't play like a rookie, he's very composed and very solid," said Varsity Reds head coach Miles Pinsent. "He came through in the big moments when we need him to. He's done everything we've needed him to."
