Varsity Reds men's soccer take on Montreal Impact U23 squad

UNB's Varsity Reds men's soccer team, 2013-2014 AUS Champions and CIS bronze medalists, are getting ready to kick it up a notch in what is set to be a great preview to the upcoming season.

The Varsity Reds will start off 2014-2015 with an exhibition game against Montreal Impact U23.

The Montreal Impact U23 squad plays in the Northeast Division of the Professional Development League (PDL) which is itself part of the United Soccer League (USL).

Miles Pinsent, head coach of the Varsity Reds, is looking forward to seeing how his varsity players will match up against the budding professionals.

"It's going to be challenging for us with just a few days of training to match up against a high level team that is in mid-season form."

Game time is at 11:00am on Saturday, August 23rd at the BMO Centre on UNB's Fredericton campus. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $3 for students. Kids under 12 enter free. Tickets are available at the gate on game day.
