Team Captain Ben Law leads team to 2-0-1 record
The UNB men's soccer team nabbed another victory at home, defeating the Mount Allison Mounties 3-0.
"It was nice that we got to use our entire bench and get a chance for some players to get some playing time."
Although #7 Oliver Jones was named player of the game, Benjamin Law stood out scoring at 23:07, the second of three in the game, bringing his count to 10 goals for the Varsity Reds in his career with the team.
"He's always rock solid [and] if you come to a UNB game you might not really appreciate everything that Ben does out there" said Pinsent.
An Ottawa native, Law is in his fifth year of eligibility with the team and was named AUS All-Star and CIS All Canadian last season. He was also the leading goal-scorer for team.
His father playing varsity soccer is one of the reasons he got into the game at the age of five
Unsure of his next move after high school, it was friends on the Varsity team pushing him to play at UNB that motivated Law to come here.
"They just kind of pushed me to come, so I talked to Miles, and five years later … here I am."
