(WOLFVILLE, NS) Make it seven straight wins for the UNB REDS, who cruised to a 5-0 victory over the Acadia Axemen on Tuesday night, in Wolfville.

The game was re-scheduled from October 14th, when it was postponed when the REDS had transportation issues.

UNB had no issues Tuesday, led by the hottest goalie in Atlantic University Sport, Samuel Richard (Ste. Catherine, QC), who stopped all 20 shots he face.

The REDS started their offensive onslaught early in the first period when Brady Gilmour (Grafton, ON) knocked a puck in at the side of the net.

Simon Pinard (Drummondville, QC) added to UNB's lead shortly after the midway point of the period when he split the Acadia defence and slid a backhand past Acadia goalie Conor McCollum (Pickering, ON).

Acadia's best chance in the period came when Liam Kidney (Enfield, NS) got a partial breakaway. However, Kidney was unable to solve Richard, in the UNB net.

UNB's Jason Willms (Kitchener, ON) potted the first goal of the second period, just 33 seconds in and while the REDS were shorthanded. A turnover by Acadia exiting their zone led to Willms being left alone in front of Acadia's net. Willms deked McCollum and slid the puck under his pads, pushing the UNB lead to 3-0.

Cole MacKay (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) fired a one-timer into the top right corner of the net in the final minutes of the second to give the REDS a 4-0 advantage.

Kade Landry (Gowanstown, ON) capped off the scoring for UNB with just under two minutes remaining in the game. Landry stepped in from the blueline and wired a wrist shot high off the left side post and in to put his team up 5-0.

Together, Acadia and UNB recorded 124 minutes in penalties in the third period. Most of the penalties coming in a pair of altercations late in the period.

McCollum stopped 22 of 27 shots for the Axemen, while Richard earned the first shutout of his AUS career.

UNB's Austen Keating (Guelph, ON) was named Subway Player of the Game and Michael Petizian (Mississauga, ON) was named third star.

The two teams meet again Friday, at UNB's Aitken Centre. Game time is 7:00pm.
