UNB wins third straight pre-season game
(TORONTO, ON) The UNB Reds scored twice in the second period, silencing a large Toronto crowd, on route to a 3-0 win over the Ryerson Rams in exhibition play on Friday night.
After a scoreless first period, the Reds scored two goals in a six minute span.
Alexandre Goulet (Disraeli, QC) opened the scoring at 5:47 of the second, before newcomer Mark Rassell (Calgary, AB) made it 2-0, at 12:08. Another newcomer, Matthew Boucher (Los Angeles, Calif.), assisted on Rassell's goal.
Stephen Anderson (Morell, PE) made it 3-0 UNB with a goal at 10:10 of the third period.
Rylan Parenteau (Saskatoon, SK) made 22 saves for the shutout and his third consecutive pre-season win.
Taylor Dupuis (New Liskeard, ON) stopped 32 of the 35 shots he faced in the Rams net.
The two teams conclude their weekend exhibition series on Saturday. Game time is 5:15pm Atlantic.
Both games are being played at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, formerly Maple Leaf Gardens.
