Reds Sweep Redmen
UNB wins 3-2 in shootout
(FREDERICTON, NB) The UNB Reds men's hockey team completed a weekend exhibition sweep of the McGill Redmen.
Tyler Boland (St. John's, NL) scored in regulation and added the shootout winner to give UNB a 3-2 victory, Saturday afternoon.
Boland's goal in regulation came just 42 seconds after the Redmen had taken a 2-0 lead in the second period.
Antoine Dufour-Plante (Montreal, QC) opened the scoring, on the power-play, with just six seconds to play in the first period.
McGill went up 2-0 when Aaron Armstrong (Teeswater, ON) scored at 5:39 of the second.
Boland cut McGill's lead in half at 6:21.
Alexandre Goulet (Disraeli, QC) pulled UNB even at 17:50 of the third.
UNB outshot McGill 37-23.
Rylan Parenteau (Saskatoon, SK) earned the win in the UNB net.
Antoine Samuel (Lac Etchemin, QC) took the loss in the Redmen net.
