(HALIFAX, NS) The UNB Varsity Reds defeated the Dalhousie Tigers 4-3 Saturday night, in a game where the action hit a fever pitch in the third period.

After a scoreless first period, the Varsity Reds opened the scoring when Peter Trainor (Fredericton, NB) tipped in a point shot at 9:03, on the power-play.

The third period began with Dalhousie quickly tying things when Colton Heffley (Swift Current, SK) got a juicy rebound and scored just 22 seconds in, to make it 1-1.

UNB answered right back when Trey Lewis (Aldouane, NB) capitalized on a rebound himself at 1:55.

UNB made it 3-1 when Cam Brace (Etobicoke, ON) put a snapshot from the circle into the net at 8:01.

The Tigers then got goals from Alex Pawelczyk (Sterling Heights, MI) and Aiden Jamieson (Lindsay, ON) to tie it 3-3. Jamieson's goal came with 2:04 left to play.

The Varsity Reds responded.

Matt Boudens (Pembroke, ON) stuffed a wraparound in at 18:59 to give the V-Reds the victory.

UNB outshot the Tigers 42-23.
