(MONTAGUE, PE) Chris Clapperton(Cap Espoir, QC) and Colin Suellentrop(Plantation, FLA) scored goals 1:13 apart in the third period to lift the UNB Varsity Reds to a 2-1 pre-season win over the UPEI Panthers, in Montague, Friday night.

Newcomer Kris Bennett(Brampton, ON) set up Clapperton's goal, while Suellentrop's was unassisted.

Alex Dubeau(Mascouche, QC) played the first and second periods in net, giving up one goal on ten shots.

Rookie Rylan Parenteau(Saskatoon, SK) played the third period. He stopped all six shots he faced and earned the win.

Cody Payne scored the Panthers goal, late in the second period.

Next on UNB's exhibition schedule, a date with Dalhousie Tigers.

Dal will be at the Aitken Centre on Friday, September 22nd. Face-off is at 7:00pm.

The Varsity Reds will conclude their pre-season schedule with a trip to Boston College, to face the Eagles of the NCAA.
