V-Reds top AUS standings with 13th straight win.

The Varsity Reds completed AUS regular season play with a pair of wins in Nova Scotia this weekend giving them a 13 game winning streak and capturing first place in the AUS with 49 points.

On Friday night UNB defeated Dalhousie 7-0. The score was 3-0 after the first with goals from Thomas Nesbitt, Philippe Halley, and Jordan Murray. Three more goals were added in the second coming from Philippe Maillet, Dylan Willick, and Chris Culligan. In the third the lone goal came from Cameron MacLise.

Charles Lavigne had the shut-out and had faced 23 shots.

On Saturday the V-Reds travelled to Wolfville to take on the Acadia Axemen – their closest rivals - just two points behind UNB.

It wasn't until 8:09 in the second period that Adrian Robertson managed to put UNB on the scoreboard with the game-winning goal on a pass from Nick MacNeil and Taylor MacDougall.  The second goal of the period was scored by team captain Chris Culligan from Jordan Murray at 14:48 when UNB was on a power play.

Lavinge faced 32 shots on the night and was named one of the three stars of the game.  Geoff Schemitsch - Acadia from Acadia and Philippe Halley were the other two.

UNB having secured the "bye" will play semi- final competition at home at the AUC February 26 and 27 at 7:00 pm.
