UNB Hockey Holds 2012�??13 Annual Award and Senior Recognition Night

The 2013 CIS National Champion UNB Varsity Reds capped off their highlight season by recognizing their Senior graduate members along with their team awards on Monday night at the Kingswood Golf Clubhouse and hosted by Brian Johnson. Athletic Director John Richard and UNB Academic Vice-President Dr. Tony Secco were on hand to address the team and were both presented with their official “Gold Medals” as were a number of other important contributors to the success of the team this past year.

Graduating team members included goalies Dan LaCosta and Travis Fullerton along with skaters Chad Denny, Ben Wright, Colby Pridham, Matt Fillier, Luke Lynes, Bryce Swan and Dion Campbell. All, with the exception of Pridham and Fullerton who are in pro hockey, gave their “Seniors speech” and were presented with their team jersey along with a graduating plaque and souvenir photo and video of their recent CIS Championship victory.

Best Defensive Player: Ben Shutron & Ben Wright
Top Attitude: Ben Shutron
MVP for the season: Dan LaCosta

Most Valuable Forward : Colby Pridham
MVP for the playoffs: Dan LaCosta

Mark Jeffrey Award: Chris Culligan
Mike Cavanagh Award: Marc-Antoine Desnoyers
Punchy Walker Award: Travis Fullerton, Ben Wright & Nick MacNeil
Don MacAdam Award: Ben Shutron
MVP Nationals: Tyler Carroll
Red & Black Award: Ben Shutron
Team Rookie of the Year: Cam Braes
