Icecaps Sign Tremblay

ST. JOHN’S, NL, July 5, 2012 - The St. John’s IceCaps, Atlantic Canada’s professional hockey team, has agreed to terms with former University of New Brunswick Varsity Red, Hunter Tremblay and three others, John Albert, Jake Marto and Ryan Schnell on American Hockey League contracts.
Tremblay, 26, played in 68 games with the Oklahoma City Barons during the 2011-12 season. In that span, the Timmins, Ont., native recorded 31 points (16g, 15a) and tied for the AHL lead with five shorthanded goals. Tremblay also appeared in eight Calder Cup playoff games for the Barons, notching four goals and two assists.
Tremblay made his professional debut with Oklahoma City late in the 2010-11 season following five major junior seasons (2002-07) with Barrie of the OHL and four years (2007-11) at the UNB with Head Coach Gardiner MacDougall
