Bio
Ben Shutron, #42 – (shoo-tron)Ben had a great first year with UNB, being named to both the 2010 AUS and CIS All-Rookie Teams. Shutron came to UNB from the Memorial Cup champion Windsor Spitfires. He also played for the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL in the 2008 Memorial Cup, and was named an All-Star. He won a gold medal for Canada while playing at the U-18 world championship tournament, and was a 4th round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2006. Coming out of camp Shutron was one of UNB’s top d-men before breaking his right femur in an exhibition game in September. He missed the entire 2010-11 regular season, but worked his way back into the lineup for playoffs. Ben was a 2009-10 Academic All Canadian.
