(FREDERICTON, NB) The UNB REDS earned an impressive 85-64 victory over the Cape Breton Capers in Atlantic University Sport men's basketball action on Friday night at UNB's Richard J. Currie Center.
Marcus Barnes (Kitchener, ON) led the REDS with a game-high 26-point performance, while Eden Otshudi (Hamilton, ON) contributed 15 points to solidify the win.
Despite a strong showing from Cape Breton's Sacade Kasamba (St. Catharines, ON), who scored 22 points, and Tafarian Black (Scarborough, ON), with 11 points, the REDS dominated on both ends of the court.
The win moves UNB to a 4-6 record, tying them for fourth place in the AUS standings, while the Capers now sit at 6-4, in third place.
Both teams will face off again on Saturday in a start scheduled for 3:00pm, once again at UNB's Currie Center.
