Greyhound Lambert To Join V-Red
Signs LOI for 2018-19
(FREDERICTON, NB) The 2017-18 Atlantic University Sport men’s basketball season has yet to officially begin, but the head coach of the UNB Varsity Reds is already working on next season.
Brent Baker has landed a commitment from standout Saint John High School point guard Adam Lambert, of Grand Bay-Westfield.
He’s signed a U SPORTS Letter of Intent, and will join the Varsity Reds beginning in the 2018-19 season.
The 6’1” Lambert had an outstanding summer playing for New Brunswick’s U17 team at the Canada Games.
Lambert is back with the Greyhounds this season after spending the 2016-17 season attending and playing basketball at Cornerstone Christian Academy, a prep school in Cleveland, Ohio.
“Adam has a great skill set at the point guard position,” said Coach Baker. “His ability to shoot the ball with range as well as create off the dribble makes him a tremendous asset for our program. His work ethic will be a definite add to our culture at UNB.”
Lambert is excited to be joining the Varsity Reds.
"I want to thank my family and friends for supporting me through this exciting journey,” he said. “I also want to thank the coaching staff for believing in my abilities as a player. It felt right, on my campus visit, and the current players were very helpful.”
“The family and culture are great, and go along with a beautiful campus and amazing basketball facility,” said Lambert. “UNB is the spot for me next fall.”
