(HALIFAX, NS) Another night, another come from behind victory for the UNB Varsity Reds.
And another huge night for Javon Masters(Kitchener, ON).
Masters scored 35 points as the Varsity Reds rallied from a 72-59 third quarter deficit to beat the Saint Mary's Huskies 93-92, in overtime.
A lay-up by Jesse Kendall(Guelph, ON) with 5.6 seconds to play in regulation tied the game 86-86.
Masters, Will Legere(Amherst, NS), and Chris Spurrell(Quispamsis, NB) scored for UNB in the overtime.
Ibrahima Doumbouya(Calgary, AB) scored 19 points off the UNB bench.
Masters also had 10 rebounds, to record a double-double.
His big night came less than 24 hours after he scored 37 points on Friday, leading UNB to a come from behind 83-72 win. That game also saw Masters, a fifth-year guard, become the all-time leading scorer in Atlantic University Sport.
With the win, the V-Reds are now 6-0 and in first place in the AUS standings.
The Huskies fall to 4-2.
The Varsity Reds return home to face the Memorial Sea-Hawks, Saturday and Sunday, at the Richard J. Currie Center.
