Temar Robinson-Hermelijn commits to UNB basketball
The 6’3”, 195lb guard is set to be a key addition to the line-up
(FREDERICTION, N.B.) The Varity Reds men’s basketball program is pleased to announce the addition of Temar Robinson-Hermelijn of Scarborough, Ont., to the squad for the 2015-16 season.
The 6’3”, 195lb guard played the last four seasons at Canterbury High in Milford, Conn., where he was part of the Class B New England Championship-winning team and was named First Team All-New England and Tri-State League Co-Player of the Year.
In the 2014-15 season Robinson-Hermelijn was Canterbury High’s leading scorer, averaging over 15 points per game. He went on to become the second player to score 1,000 points in Canterbury High history.
UNB head coach Brent Baker says he’s definitely excited to have Robinson-Hermelijn join the Varsity Reds and that his on-the-ball defense and court vision will be welcome additions to the line-up.
“Temar will be a tremendous asset to our program. He’s an explosive player who can play multiple positions,” Baker said. “The three-point shot has become a staple for our program and his ability to make that shot on a consistent basis definitely adds another weapon to our squad. He has the necessary quickness and three-point shooting range to compete with the best guards in the AUS.”
Robinson-Hermelijn says he’s looking forward to donning the red and black. “Thank you to Coach Baker and the coaching staff for this opportunity. I’m ready to give the Varsity Reds my all.”
