UNB Basketball Announces Opponents for Annual Tournament

This year's version of the Accreon Helen Campbell and Eric Garland Basketball Tournament will feature very competitive line-ups for both the men’s and women’s draws which will be held at the Aitken University Centre on Thanksgiving Weekend, October 8-10, 2010.

The Eric Garland men’s draw will feature reigning AUS Champions Cape Breton University and league runner-up St. Francis Xavier University. Lakehead University, a 2010 CIS Final 8 qualifier will make the trek east to complete a very strong tournament field. These three teams all feature veteran line-ups with exceptional athletes. UNB will return eight players from last year’s team with four rookies rounding out this very young, but capable squad.
  
The women’s draw will feature the University of Calgary Dinos, this year's Canada West entry. This high tempo, very athletic Alberta team will be joined by perennial AUS playoff team in the Dalhousie University Tigers and another very athletic team from Quebec, the Concordia Stingers. The revamped UNB squad, featuring four exciting recruits and the return of AUS All Stars Amanda Sharpe and Leah Corby, will be ready to begin what should be a very exciting season.
