The Varsity Reds traveled to Quebec city to take on Laval, Carleton and St. Mary’s.

UNB 90 vs Laval 86  W Friday Oct. 22 8:30 p.m. 

UNB STATS:

Daniel Quirion (Moncton, NB) 28 pts. 5-9 from 3pt. range

Jordan Irvine (Riceville, NB) 15pts

William McFee (Northbridge, Australia) 10pts

Coach's Comments: Our game plan was simple in this one. No uncontested 3’s.

Dan Quirion had his best game in a V –RED uniform with 28 points. Our guard play and defense were a big part of the team’s success against the preseason number 8 in the country.

UNB 49 vs  Carleton 88 L Saturday Oct. 23 4:00 p.m.

UNB STATS:

No one broke double figures

Rebounding; UNB 22 Carleton 45

Coach's Comments:  Our effort level was very good in this game, but poor execution coupled with Carleton”s 3point shooting and gang rebounding put this one away in the second quarter. Carleton’s Phil Scrubb went 7-9 from 3 and the Raven’s out rebounded us 45 to 22.

Lonzel Lowe (Brampton, ON) 15 points and 8 Rebounds

Coach's Comments:  

We established an inside game early as Lonzel was able to collect a number

of key fouls and score to take some pressure of the backcourt. We contested the

3 point shot very well as St. Mary’s went 5-27 from behind the arc. A good win for our team this early in the season.
