The UNB Varsity Reds basketball program is pleased announce that Aaron O’Brien of Pasadena Newfoundland will be joining the squad for the upcoming 2011-2012 season.

Aaron was a member of Newfoundland provincial team and was ranked as one the top prospects in country. He led his high school team to a 24-9 record  and the 2011 AAA Newfoundland provincial High school championship.  Aaron averaged 24 pts,14 rebounds per game.

Coach Baker is definitely impressed with this latest addition to the V- Reds.

“At 6’8” 215 Aaron is a great addition for us as we try to bolster our front line. He has a great motor, and brings a high level of tenacity that is required if you man the center position at CIS level.”
