Saint John LNG Becomes Presenting Sponsor For U SPORTS Championships
(SAINT JOHN, NB) U SPORTS and the UNB REDS are proud to name Saint John LNG as the presenting sponsor for the upcoming 2022 U SPORTS Track and Field Championships, being held at Saint John’s Irving Oil Field House, March 31st – April 2nd.
“We are pleased to have Saint John LNG become the presenting sponsor of the 2022 U SPORTS Track and Field Championships,” said Dick White, interim U SPORTS CEO. “U SPORTS Track and Field is a pathway to the national and Olympic teams and support from Saint John LNG will help power those dreams at one of our top indoor athletics events in the nation.”
“We’re proud to be able to present this event in Saint John,” said Saint John LNG General Manager Courtney Jones. “It marks a culmination of dedication and hard work on the part of some of this country’s most gifted student-athletes. These virtues align greatly with our core values, so our involvement here is a natural fit.”
Saint John LNG is a state-of-the-art liquified natural gas receiving and regasification terminal, the first of its kind in Canada.
It brings safe, clean energy to Saint John, the rest of New Brunswick, and beyond.
“The addition of Saint John LNG as the presenting sponsor of this event makes perfect sense,” said John Richard, UNB’s Director of Athletics. “They’re locally based, but their business has a regional and national scope. They understand their responsibility of being a good corporate citizen, and this is part of that. We’re happy to have them join us in presenting the U SPORTS Track and Field Championships in 2022, the first time this event has ever visited eastern Canada.”
The U SPORTS Track and Field Championships, presented by Saint John LNG, get underway on Thursday, March 31st, and conclude on Saturday, April 2nd.
The 2022 U SPORTS Track and Field Championships, presented by Saint John LNG, will be broadcast live on CBC digital platforms CBC GEM, the CBC Sports app and cbcsports.ca
