Reds Awards Going On Line

Reds Awards Going On Line

(FREDERICTON, NB) The 2020 Reds Awards will be presented on line, on Tuesday, March 31st.

The Reds annual awards gala, originally scheduled for the same day, was cancelled due to the concerns over COVID-19 and the restrictions in place on UNB campuses.

Reds student-athletes and coaches deserve the recognition these awards bring, so a ‘virtual gala’ will be used to ensure that recognition is delivered.

The presentation of awards will begin at 10:00am Atlantic, with individual team awards.

Graduating student-athletes will be recognized at 12:00pm, with Robyn Anderson, a 5th year play on the Reds women’s volleyball team, delivering the graduate address, via video, at 12:30pm.

The recognition of the Reds All-Canadians and U SPORTS All-Rookies follows at 1:00pm, with the 2019-2020 season highlights video at 2:00pm.

The day concludes with the presentation of the Reds’ major awards.

The first three major awards, the Brunswickan Award, the James Born Award, and the Dean’s Award for Coach of the Year will be presented between 3:00-3:30pm.

Nominees for the Copeland Award, male and female rookies of the year, and male and female athletes of the year will be named between 4:00-5:00pm, with the winners being revealed between 6:00-7:00pm.

The presentations will take place on the Reds Twitter and Instagram platforms, with a recap posted to the Reds web page upon completion of the presentations.
