Shelby MacIsaac, of the women’s track and field team, is the UNB REDS/Papa John’s Pizza female Athlete of the Week.
The third-year sprinter won the women’s 300-metres at the AUS Track & Field Championships and was a member of UNB’s gold medal winning 4-by-400-metre relay team.
MacIsaac also claimed the silver medal in the women’s 600-metres and took the bronze in the women’s 60-metre hurdles.
“Shelby had an outstanding weekend, leading our women’s team scoring 16.5 point towards our second overall placing,” said REDS head coach Chris Belof. “Shelby defended her 300 title, and medalling in both the 600 and 60 hurdles demonstrated her range and ability to perform in big moments.”
MacIsaac and some of her REDS teammates now prepare for the national championship meet, at the University of Manitoba, March 7-9.
