Nick Glynn, of the men’s volleyball team, is the UNB REDS/Papa John’s Pizza male Athlete of the Week.
In his fifth season, and playing outside hitter, Glynn was a major factor as the REDS split their RSEQ weekend series at Laval.
In Friday’s marathon five-set 3-2 loss to the Rouge et Or, Glynn recorded 14 kills and nine digs and scored 17 points.
In Saturday’s straight sets win, he had nine kills, two digs and 11 points.
Saturday’s win over the Rouge et Or was the first for a UNB team since 2013.
“It’s certainly nice to have Nick back in the lineup,” said REDS’ head coach Dan McMorran of Glynn, who missed much of the first half of the season due to an injury. “His competitiveness, versatility, and leadership were on display this past weekend and will be key for us as we try to secure a playoff spot.”
Glynn and his REDS teammates have home court advantage this weekend as they host the Montreal Carabins.
