REDS Fourth After Day 1 At Acadia
(WOLFVILLE, NS) The UNB REDS sit fourth in the combined team standings, the women's standings and the men's standings after the first of two days of competition at the Jack Scholz Invitational, the second meet on the 2024-25 Atlantic University Sport swimming season, at Acadia.
The Dalhousie Tigers lead in the overall standings and men's standings while the host Axewomen lead in the women's standings.
Several swimmers achieved multiple podium finishes in individual events, emerging as top performers of the day.
Acadia's Ella Collins captured two gold medals, finishing first in both the 50-metre breaststroke and the 200-metre breaststroke.
Memorial's Chris Weeks led the Sea-Hawks men's team with two first-place finishes, in the 100-metre freestyle and 50-metre butterfly.
Dalhousie's Isaac Bahler also notched multiple wins, claiming the men's 200-metre butterfly and contributing to Dalhousie's relay success.
The best REDS finish came in the men's 4-by-50m medley relay, where the team of Maxime Kenny, Blake Kingston, Ethan Nestoruk, and Bill Stein finished third.
The competition resumes Sunday morning at 10:00am.
