FUNCTION:
This position reports directly to the Head Coach of the Men's Varsity Hockey Team and the Director of Athletics
and is required to assist the head coach with the coaching of the men's hockey program, coordinating the UNB hockey camps program as well as providing leadership and support within the Varsity Athletics Program.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate and assist in all aspects of the men's varsity hockey program.
• Responsible for exhibition game scheduling.
• Assist with UNB's home exhibition events.
• Assist Head Coach with recruiting.
• Responsible for ordering and management of equipment budget.
• Responsible for fundraising and sponsorship activities.
• Responsible for Academic monitoring of athletes.
• Responsible for development of UNB alumni program and special events.
• Responsible for monitoring of off season training programs.
• Provide support in conjunction with volunteer efforts of the team in the community.
• Coordinate summer, fall and winter hockey camps including hiring of staff, curriculum development, teaching at camps and overall supervision of all aspects of camps.
• Coordinator of video analysis for team using Steva software.
• Other complementary duties, in addition to coaching, will be assigned to match the incumbent's expertise and the Faculty's requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A University degree and a minimum of five years' related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Applicable coaching certification and high performance playing experience preferred.
• Experience in working with high performance athletes and administrative and teaching skills.
